Paying less

Three things that can reduce what you pay

Southern Cross Easy Claim

We process your claim here through the Easy Claim portal rather than you claiming it back afterwards, and we can check your entitlement before you commit.

Government subsidies

The Enable under-16 spectacle subsidy for Community Services Card holders, and a Ministry of Health contact lens subsidy for conditions such as keratoconus.

Payment options

Cash and the major credit cards, plus Q Card and Gem Visa for treatments you would rather spread over time.

Common questions

Questions about fees

Do I pay for the eye exam separately from a specialty fitting?
Yes for Ortho-K — the $2,275 fitting and lens package does not include the initial eye test, and the Ortho-K evaluation itself requires up-to-date eye test results. The soft contact lens fitting packages do include an eye exam.
Will you tell me the cost before you do anything?
Yes. Treatment plans vary between patients, so the fee that applies to you is confirmed at your appointment before anything goes ahead.
Can health insurance or a subsidy reduce these fees?
Often. We are a Southern Cross Easy Claim partner and can process your claim on the spot, and we administer both the Enable under-16 spectacle subsidy and a Ministry of Health contact lens subsidy for conditions such as keratoconus.
What can I pay with?
Cash, Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus Q Card and Gem Visa for treatments you would rather spread over time.
